Description of the Position
You will be joining Open Cosmos’ satellite development team in Harwell-Oxford (UK) and will be responsible to lead and manage the implementation of firmware in FPGA targets that form key elements of our spacecraft avionics. You are expected to be involved in the whole cycle of a mission from concept, to tests, V&V, to orbital operations support and telemetry analysis.
Implement digital signal processing algorithms for satellite subsystems.
Utilize Python and/or MATLAB and/or R for algorithm prototyping and optimization for efficient hardware implementation.
Conduct trade-off studies for performance power, complexity and reliability of DSP algorithms deployed on FPGA Fabric.
Support HDL-level design and verification
Design and implement software of embedded devices and systems.
Assist electronics design validation and qualification.
Collaborate with different technical teams to deliver a consistent technical solution.
Have input into requirements and verification plans.

Commit to fulfill customer requirements and expectations.
Experience with major FPGA families (Xilinx, Altera, Microsemi)
Experience with General Purpose DSP families (Analog Devices, TI)
Experience in DSP Software and FPGA Firmware design
Experience in DSP algorithm modeling and development in Matlab/Simulink/Python
Experience in Digital high-speed Hardware design
Knowledge of Software Defined Radio principles
Familiar with Linux, python and scripting

Design, verification and validation of PCB schematics and layout
